The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced on June 24, 2025, that it processed over 2 million disability benefits claims for Veterans in fiscal year 2025, setting a new speed record.
This milestone was reached over a month faster than the previous record set in FY 2024, with a projected 14% increase in completed claims by year’s end.
The VA has awarded over $120 billion in compensation and pension benefits to Veterans and survivors this year.
Since President Trump’s inauguration, the VA has slashed the backlog of disability claims by more than 74,000, reducing the average processing time from 141.5 days to 131.8 days.
VA Secretary Doug Collins emphasized, “We’re focused on delivering results for Veterans.”
The VA continues its mission to enhance care and benefits for Veterans, families, caregivers, and survivors.
