ICE Agents Expose Corrupt Law Enforcement Exploiting Immigration System

A federal indictment unsealed Wednesday charges five Louisiana men, including four current and former law enforcement officers, in a sprawling U visa fraud scheme uncovered by vigilant U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officers.

The 62-count indictment alleges that Chandrakant Patel, alongside Oakdale Police Chief Chad Doyle, Ward 5 Marshal Michael Slaney, Forest Hill Police Chief Glynn Dixon, and former Glenmora Police Chief Tebo Onishea, orchestrated a nine-and-a-half-year conspiracy to produce false police reports of staged armed robberies.

These reports enabled aliens to fraudulently apply for U visas, which protect crime victims aiding law enforcement.

Patel allegedly bribed a Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office agent with $5,000 for fake reports. ICE agents, through Operation Take Back America, played a pivotal role in dismantling this scheme, safeguarding the integrity of immigration processes.

Convictions could bring up to 20 years per defendant, exposing the gravity of exploiting a system meant to protect vulnerable victims.
