On July 17, 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested violent criminal illegal aliens across the U.S., including a convicted murderer and fentanyl trafficker, in a coordinated operation targeting the “worst of the worst.”

In Los Angeles, ICE detained Phong Thanh Nguyen, a Vietnamese national convicted of second-degree murder and indecent exposure, who evaded deportation since 2012 under Obama-era policies.
