Larry Wilson, 35, made his initial federal court appearance today as the last of eight Young Mob (YM) gang members charged in a violent crime wave that terrorized Memphis.

The gang, known for red and black attire and “Eight Ball” symbols, allegedly committed murder, arson, drug trafficking, and armed robberies.

On May 28, 2022, YM members, including Mohamed Samba, 25, killed a rival gang member at a McDonald’s drive-through, later burning the stolen getaway car.

In 2023, Paul Nelson, 32, and Jerrod Cox, 32, robbed Tug’s Casual Grill, leaving a wounded accomplice to die. YM’s crimes, fueled by drug and music profits, spread fear, endangering communities.

Facing up to 60 years, Wilson and his co-defendants are prosecuted by federal and local authorities in a crackdown on gang violence.
