Swift action by Border Patrol agents and local police neutralized the shooter. The FBI is leading an ongoing investigation into the attack.

This incident brings to light the escalating risks faced by border security personnel, with recent data showing a 64% rise in assaults on agents since 2019.

Additionally, a reported 700% increase in attacks on ICE officers since the LA insurrection began in June highlights the growing threats targeting immigration enforcement.

The DHS expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their rapid response, as authorities work to determine the motive behind the ambush.

Updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
