On May 18, 2025, the FBI Denver field office renewed its call for information in the unsolved murder of John Jacoby, a 47-year-old Windsor, Colorado resident killed on May 18, 2015.

Jacoby was shot twice while cycling on Weld County Road 15, a case linked to an earlier April 2015 shooting in Fort Collins, suggesting a possible serial offender.

The Fort Collins incident occurred on April 22, 2015, when a woman was driving near the intersection of Harmony Road and the southbound I-25 on-ramp around 11:15 p.m. She was shot in the neck after two rounds were fired at her vehicle but survived the attack.

Despite efforts by the Northern Colorado Shooting Task Force, no arrests have been made.

The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest, prosecution, and conviction of those responsible.

Jacoby, known locally for cycling around town, was a part-time caretaker.

Authorities urge anyone with details to contact the task force at (970) 498-5595 or taskforce@larimer.org, as they continue seeking justice in this decade-old cold case.
