USDA Expedites $21 Billion in Disaster Aid for Farmers Amid Political Delays

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has begun distributing $21 billion in disaster relief to farmers, with livestock payments arriving two days early.
USDA Director of Communications Seth W. Christensen criticized Congressional Democrats for delaying aid by politicizing the process, accusing them of withholding funds to create controversy.
Secretary Rollins is prioritizing swift, transparent relief, meeting weekly with states to ensure efficient delivery without duplicating federal programs.
However, some states, led by partisan officials, have refused to cooperate, slowing nationwide aid. Unlike the Biden Administration’s USDA, where relief took up to 19 months, the current administration is expediting support.
Secretary Rollins remains committed to supporting farmers despite political obstacles.
