Nearly five months after devastating wildfires swept through Los Angeles County, federal agencies have provided more than $3 billion in support to aid recovery efforts for homeowners, renters, and businesses, according to a FEMA press.

FEMA’s Individual Assistance program has approved over $136 million to assist 57,813 survivors. This includes $42 million for Housing Assistance and $93 million for Other Needs Assistance, funds disbursed directly to those affected. Additionally, FEMA’s Rental Assistance Program has supported 749 homeowners and 2,677 renters, with over $18 million approved to help survivors secure temporary housing.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has also played a significant role, approving more than $2.9 billion in low-interest disaster loans. Of this, $456 million has gone to businesses and nonprofits, while $2.4 billion has been allocated to homeowners and renters to rebuild and recover.

The federal response underscores a commitment to helping Los Angeles County residents and businesses rebound from the wildfires’ widespread impact. FEMA and its partners continue to process applications and urge affected individuals to apply for assistance as recovery efforts progress.
