U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has awarded a $309.5 million contract to Fisher Sand & Gravel Co. for 27 miles of new border wall in Arizona’s Tucson Sector, a high-traffic area for illegal border crossings and smuggling.

Funded by CBP’s Fiscal Year 2021 budget, the project addresses gaps left by canceled contracts under the Biden Administration.

In Texas, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem issued a waiver to expedite 17 miles of wall construction in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, bypassing environmental regulations like the National Environmental Policy Act.

This marks Noem’s fifth waiver, reinforcing DHS’s commitment to border security. The waivers aim to minimize delays and enhance efforts to curb illegal crossings and transnational crime.

These projects underscore the Trump Administration’s renewed focus on fortifying the southern border, prioritizing rapid construction to impede smuggling and unauthorized entries.
