Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated on The Rubin Report that drivers threatened by mobs on the streets can flee for safety, even if it means hitting protesters.
He emphasized, “If you drive off and hit one of these people, that’s their fault for impinging on you.” DeSantis argued that individuals should not remain “sitting ducks” and have the right to defend themselves in Florida.
He further clarified that this policy is rooted in the principle of self-defense, asserting that Floridians are not obligated to wait for harm when their lives are at risk.
DeSantis reiterated that the policy is designed to ensure that citizens can protect themselves from immediate threats, particularly in situations where escape is the only viable option.
This stance reflects DeSantis’s broader approach to law and order, aiming to protect citizens from perceived threats during public demonstrations.
